“Thank God, life, and the universe for everyone and everything sent your way.
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. It can turn an existence into a real life, and disconnected situations into important and beneficial lessons.
“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
“Gratitude makes things right.
“Gratitude turns negative energy into positive energy. There is no situation or circumstance so small or large that it is not susceptible to gratitude’s power.
“We can start with who we are and what we have today, apply gratitude, then let it work its magic.
“Say thank you, until you mean it. If you say it long enough, you will believe it.”
– Melody Beattie
Happy Thanksgiving.
“In the ordinary choices of every day we begin to change the direction of our lives.” – Eknath Easwaran
Appeciate this post. I recently watched the 2012 movie Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. This excellently presented film reminded me of some deeply held values and helped me put words to others. While far from a traditional Thanksgiving movie, it nevertheless boosted my attitude of gratitude. The one character with some truly rough edges (refreshing in this cinematic world of really nice people) came to clarity about her self and next actions. The commentary shared by the character Evelyn, played by Judi Dench, is an added bonus. This wonderful film is worth a second or even third viewing.

Thanks for connecting this Melody Beattie poem of gratitude with the movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
I enjoyed the movie for the adaptability of the older characters, taken completely out of their comfort zone and placed in a situation where they needed to make adjustments to be happy.
I need more gratitude to make the same adjustments Judi Dench and the others portrayed in this great movie.
Thanks for being part of the conversation. Happy Thanksgiving.

Recent studies indicate being grateful is good for our hearts!

That sounds great. A grateful heart is a full heart is a happy heart…so that makes the heart healthy. I like that connection.
Happy Thanksgiving friend.
