Bikes of Color
Move over Portland. The race for the most bicycle friendly place to live has now gotten tighter with the “bikes of color” in Charlotte. These bikes are everywhere and their bright colors look good in a town known more for pinstripes than pastels.

Coffee Meetings Matter
I like coffee meetings; with old friends or someone I am meeting for the first time. These quiet settings are also my choice if we are patching up differences or trying to reach a middle ground from opposite starting points. Like many, I didn’t think it mattered much where we met as long as the conversation was productive.
Trolleys Matter
Many years ago, trolleys were at the heart of Charlotte – they connected everything. Our grandparents took trolleys to work, to school, to shop, and to worship. Today’s trolleys will provide the same benefits for neighborhoods to the west and east of our core and will prove to be equally wise.
I Choose Hope
I am hopeful because we are crossing a threshold and have reached the critical mass where the positive news will continue to outweigh the negative; and forward motion becomes unstoppable. Some of these things are big, many are small. They are all putting drops in the bucket of my hope.
