“Perhaps that is where our choice lies — in determining how we will meet the inevitable end of things, and how we will greet each new beginning.” – Elana K. Arnold
How was it when you went out on your own for the first time? Did you get a job, then save up for your own place, or was your story different?
The first the chapters gave us a little peek on how things turned out. Now, I want to explore the backstory.
If you missed the opening three chapters, you can go back to catch up with a few clicks on the site. Those chapters are really the ending to our story. They tell about Brooke and Peter buying the old Adams’ farm in the mountains, how they’re trying to fit into western North Carolina. The opening ends with them getting ready for a visit from their old friends, Sunya and Justice.
Those chapters left us with more questions than answers. Now we’ll go back to the beginning so we can start to understand how our couple, no yet 40 years old, built a company that allowed them to buy a 160-acre place in the mountains and live happily ever after.
Chapter Four begins our journey back, how Brooke became Brooke — in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It will take time to navigate our way to those answers, but isn’t that what life is about?
In Chapter 4, we start Brooke’s journey after college. We discover her family dynamics – and the choices she begins to make to find her own way.
So let’s keep reading. Here’s Chapter 4.
Remember, this is a shared experience. Your comments and suggestions at the end of each chapter will help us pick the best route so we can all end up back at Tall Clover Farms by the end of the book.
As always, the conversation starts here.
